What Pie Are You — Pumpkin or Pecan?

Thanksgiving is almost here — and if you’re anything like me, that means it’s time to preheat the oven, pull out the pie plates, and fill the kitchen with all those warm, buttery, cinnamon-spiced smells that make the holiday feel complete.
But let’s have a little fun this month — when it comes to Thanksgiving dessert, what pie are you?
Are you Team Pumpkin Pie, silky and classic with cozy fall spice?
Or are you Team Pecan Pie, sweet, nutty, and a little indulgent (because you know how to live)?
Let’s find out… and bake both!

Pumpkin Pie Personality

You’re the traditionalist — warm, welcoming, and full of comfort. You’re the one who sets the table early, remembers everyone’s favorite side dish, and sneaks an extra dollop of whipped cream on top “just because.”
🍂 Lucille’s Classic Pumpkin Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
⦁ 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust (homemade or quality store-bought)
⦁ 1 ¾ cups pure pumpkin purée
⦁ ¾ cup light brown sugar
⦁ 2 large eggs
⦁ 1 cup heavy cream
⦁ ½ teaspoon salt
⦁ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
⦁ ½ teaspoon ground ginger
⦁ ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
⦁ ¼ teaspoon cloves
⦁ 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:
⦁ Preheat oven to 375°F.
⦁ In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin purée, brown sugar, eggs, cream, salt, spices, and vanilla until smooth.
⦁ Pour into your prepared crust and smooth the top.
⦁ Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the center is just set and slightly wobbly.
⦁ Cool completely before serving. Serve with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.
This pie tastes like home — rich, creamy, and full of that familiar fall flavor that makes Thanksgiving, well… Thanksgiving.

Pecan Pie Personality

You’re bold, fun, and love a little drama (the good kind). You bring the energy to the table, pour the wine, and insist everyone takes “just one more slice.”
🍁 Lucille’s Southern-Style Pecan Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
⦁ 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
⦁ 1 cup light corn syrup
⦁ 1 cup granulated sugar
⦁ 3 large eggs
⦁ 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
⦁ 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
⦁ ¼ teaspoon salt
⦁ 1 ½ cups pecan halves
Directions:
⦁ Preheat oven to 350°F.
⦁ In a medium bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until combined.
⦁ Stir in pecans, then pour the mixture into your crust.
⦁ Bake for 50–60 minutes, until golden brown and the center is just set.
⦁ Cool before slicing to allow the filling to settle and slice beautifully.
The result? That perfect balance of sweet, nutty, and buttery — a pie that never goes unnoticed and always steals the show.

🧡 So, which one are you?
Are you the cozy Pumpkin Pie type, or the bold Pecan Pie spirit? Either way, both will make your Thanksgiving table complete.
